Study 3

Assess the role of Xenon in protection of brain after brain injury

Material and methods:

It was a controlled animal study conducted on mice. Subjects were divided into two groups. On group was exposed to xenon after 15 minutes of brain injury and other was exposed after 1 to 3 hours.

Results:

Subjects exposed to Xenon for 15 minutes show significant improvement in brain activity after brain trauma. Contusion volume also reduced. Those exposed to xenon within 1 to 3 hours showed same results.

Conclusion:

Xenon gives neuroprotective results if given within 3 hours of brain injury.
